PATIALA: Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has lashed out at the NDA government for raising the prices of petrol and diesel within 24 hours of its presenting Budget 2015. She said that the sudden hike had not only shocked the common man but had also shattered his dreams of ‘good days’, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised. Bhattal was reacting to the sudden increase of more than Rs 3 in the prices of petrol and diesel here, while on the way to Dirba (Sangrur) to attend a marriage function. Besides, she said Budget 2015 had also proved without any shadow of doubt that the NDA government at the Centre was corporate-sector friendly as the corporate tax rate had been reduced. It was once again proved that the government was anti-farmer as no initiatives have been announced for crop diversification which farm sector in Punjab was expecting. On the whole, the Budget was pro-rich anti-poor, she concluded.
