Chandigarh:The Budget for 2015-2016 presented by the Finance Minister is merely an empty vessel and which will further increase the debt of Punjab,” said the Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar. While reacting on the Budget, Jakhar, who was, however, conspicuous by his absence for the second consecutive day in the House on Wednesday, said, in a statement that Punjab Budget was “completely discouraging for the common man, especially for poor men as this Budget has nothing for them.” He said that in the absence of the fund allocations by the Central government will affect the urban and rural growth in Punjab state.

He also raised the concern of free laptops for the poor students, which was mentioned by the SAD-BJP state government in its manifesto. He said that “there was no fund allocation for free laptops for the students, shows the financial crisis of the state.”
