AAP launches drive against drugs

Jalandhar : The Aam Aadmi Party leaders have kicked off their struggle against drugs menace in the state on Monday, on the Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sehdev. They organised a rally at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall where they announced complete agenda with their vision document to curb the menace of drugs abuse.
The AAP leaders claimed that Punjab is facing acute problem of drug abuse under the present Akali / BJP regime. Aam Aadmi Party feels that drugs issue in Punjab is not only limited to drug addiction but it plays an important role in controlling state as ‘narco politics.’
In their vision document, the AAP leaders mentioned that AAP does not consider the youth of Punjab as drugs addicts rather they are victims of narco politics. They would help the victims and their families with every possible help and they would adopt the poor families affected with drugs menace and would help them in getting rid of this stigma. AAP will also adopt the villages and will get them declared as drugs-free zones.
AAP will coordinate with Narcotic Control Bureau, other such agencies, NGOs and social workers who have assured them to be a part of this drive against the drugs menace. They would also provide legal aid to fight false cases filed by police against the drugs addicts.
They claimed that AAP had released a 24x7 helpline 981444555 on February 24 where party has received thousands of calls not only from all parts of Punjab but also from large number of Punjabi’s settled all over the world giving information relating to use, abuse and supply of drugs under the patronisation of present regime. Many NGO’s have extended their support to the party in its fight against this menace.
