Dhuri (Sangrur) : People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) chief Manpreet Singh Badal today campaigned for Simar Pratap Singh Barnala, Sanjha Morcha candidate for the Dhuri Assembly byelection. He sought votes for Barnala in Jahangir, Ghanauri Kalan, Farwahi, Changli, Kaleran and Ghanaur Khurd villages. Simar is contesting the byelection on the Congress symbol.

Manpreet was accompanied by Simar, president of Sehajdhari Sikh Federation Paramjit Singh Ranu and area in charge of the PPP for the Dhuri Assembly constituency Naveen Seth.

Manpreet Badal called upon villagers to vote for Simar Pratap Singh Barnala and give him a chance to represent them in the Assembly in a better way as he was young and well-educated. He said the present rulers had pushed the state on to the path of destruction in past eight years. He said the people had lost faith in the SAD-BJP government and now they would vote for Simar in a big way.

He said Punjab’s name was now in the list of backward states of the country, which was a matter of shame. Rampant corruption and poor administration had ruined the state, he alleged.
