Amarinder will join campaign, says Simar’s father Gaganjeet - Mid-day meal workers to protest tomorrow

Kakkarwal (Dhuri) : Congress candidate Simar Partap Singh Barnala’s father Gaganjeet Barnala today said owing to personal relations with the Barnala family, former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will campaign for Simar.

The former Dhuri MLA said Captain had sent a message to the family that he would campaign for Simar. He claimed that earlier also Capt had come here due to personal relations with the family.

Gaganjeet said his family had long association with Captain for four generations as his mother’s grandfather Chanda Singh was a general in the army of Maharaja Rajinder Singh of Patiala.

On the party’s lackluster campaign so far, Gaganjeet said the campaign would be in full swing from tomorrow onwards as most of the Congress leaders would arrive at Dhuri tomorrow. He said AICC general secretary Shakeel Ahmad had assigned duties to the MLAs and senior Congress leaders.

Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa arrived at Dhuri today.
