THE SAD CAME UP WITH A COLOURFUL MANIFESTO, WHICH IT NOW SEEMS TO HAVE PAINTED BLACK BY DENYING PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT - PARTAP SINGH BAJWA, Punjab Cong chief

DHURI: Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Sunday slammed the SAD-BJP government for “going back on the promises made in the election manifesto”.

While campaigning for party candidate Simar Pratap Singh Barnala, Bajwa said the state government must explain how many promises in their election manifesto had been kept. He said the SAD had come up with a colourful manifesto, which they now seemed to have painted with a black paint by denying people the development.

Bajwa criticised the state government for “converting Dhuri into a protesting area”, where every section of society, “fed up with the state government”, was coming to mark their protest. He said the protest march by a number of workers of National Rural Health Mission, anganwadi workers and mid-day meal workers had exposed the real face of the state government. This reflected the pentup feelings among people and the increasing resentment, he added.

Bajwa claimed that the coffers of the government were empty and no development work was going on. The roads in various towns and cities were potholed, he added.

He called upon people to give a befitting reply to the “failed” government as the “change should begin with Dhuri”. He said it was time for people to inflict a crushing defeat on a “government that had come into power only by misleading them”.
