Dhuri : Manpreet Singh Badal, president, People’s Party of Punjab, today called upon Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to come out with specific gains that had accrued to the state from the SAD-BJP alliance.

He challenged Sukhbir to come out even with one major gain to Punjab from the alliance especially after the formation of the Modi government. He alleged the only beneficiary was the Badal family and not the state.

Manpreet today campaigned in favour of Simar Pratap Singh Barnala at Katron village. He said the latest case of ignoring Punjab by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was his recent visit to the state when Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal presented him a long list of demands which the PM outrightly ignored.

He said the first shock was given to the state by the Modi government when Finance Minister Arun Jaitley rejected the state’s demand for any special consideration, saying that the Centre had already over-funded Punjab during earlier years. He said the CM during the Lok Sabha elections had stated that once the BJP came to power at the Centre, truckloads of money would come to Punjab. But not a penny had been given to the state so far, he added.
