Ludhiana : Independent MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains, who along with his supporters was granted bail yesterday, was released from Mansa jail this evening.

He said: “The harsh sections (including attempt to murder) imposed against me at the behest of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal proved that I am fighting for a right cause. I am not like him (Sukhbir) who was put into lock up on petty corruption charges by the Amarinder-led Congress government.” A heavy police force was deployed at Shimlapuri and its surrounding areas as the MLA’s supporters gathered in large numbers to welcome their leader.
