PATIALA: Demanding the resignation of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for the way they handled the molestation and murder of a minor girl aboard a Orbit bus, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member of Parliament from Patiala Dharamvira Gandhi, along with hundreds of party workers, protested at the local bus stand on Saturday.

AAP MP Dharamvira Gandhi and pary workers protesting against the state govt.

AAP workers also carried out a protest march in the city and raised slogans against the Punjab government after Moga molestation case, in which 13-year-old Arshdeep Kaur died, while mother Shinder Kaur received injuries after they were thrown out of Orbit bus on April 29. “A government which has failed to ensure safety of women in the state, has no right to rule and must quit with immediate effect,” said Gandhi.

“The same transport company, Orbit Aviation, has killed several people over the last year or so. No one has dared to protest against the influential Badal family,” Gandhi alleged.

He said Punjab chief minister Prakash Singh Badal, deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal, Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal and other members of Badal clan must take moral responsibility.

Attacking Harsimrat, Gandhi said the so-called self acclaimed leading light of ‘Nanni Chhawan’ Harsimrat, instead of consoling the family, kept on lying that the bus was not owned by her husband.

“The incident has shamed the country and the Badals are responsible.”
