Moga : Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday sounded unusually soft towards his bête noir PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa. “We are united but if you want us to share each and every stage, it is impossible for us as we have different assignments to perform. If I am here today, Bajwa would be busy at some other places but I am sure he too would be on the party’s job,” said Amarinder Singh. Amarinder, along with his Patiala MLA wife Perneet Kaur, CLP leader Sunil Kumar Jakhar and various other party leaders visited the Moga molestation and murder case’s victim family at the Civil Hospital Moga.

Besides consoling the bereaved father Sukhdev Singh and his injured wife Shinder Kaur, the Patiala Royal couple also handed over cash worth Rs 2 lakh to them as monetary help in their hour of grief. Addressing the gathering in the hospital premises, Captain also endorsed Partap Singh Bajwa’s demand of President’s Rule in Punjab, saying that the state was a fit case for the President’s rule as anarchy and bankruptcy was prevailing all over the state. “There is total collapse of the law and order machinery in the state while the economy has gone bankrupt long back,” he remarked.

He questioned why the Orbit Aviation took the route of Red Cross to compensate. It’s pertinent to mention that Orbit has paid Rs 24 lakh to Moga District Red Cross Society to pay the victim family ex-gratia. Chief Minister also pointed out that the criminal incidents of serious nature were taking place in Punjab at an alarming regularity and people were feeling unsafe and insecure. “There is a feeling of fear and insecurity prevailing among people as such incidents were taking place every second day,” he said, arguing that this government had lost the will to govern and hence the President’s rule was the only option.

Later, while speaking to the media persons at a banquet hall, Amarinder condemned the administration for cremating 13-year-old Arshdeep Kaur in a ‘hush-hush’ manner. “The administration has behaved typically like the British the way they had cremated Bhagat Singh during the night to avoid public outburst,” he added. Sunil Kumar Jakhar and Preneet Kaur also lashed out at the SAD-BJP government. They asked the BJP to come out of the alliance if finding uncomfortable.
