CHANDIGARH: After remaining absent from the Lok Sabha since the budget session resumed on April 20, former Punjab chief minister and Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh sprung into action on Monday by not only visiting the family of the Moga molestation victim but also announcing to move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday for discussion on the ‘collapse’ of law and order situation in Punjab.

In a press statement, Amarinder, after returning from Moga where he met the parents of the girl who died after she was pushed off an Orbit bus owned by the ruling Badal family, said the law and order situation had collapsed in Punjab.

“There is an atmosphere of lawlessness, fear and insecurity in the state. The government has abdicated all it authority,” he said, adding that he would also seek time from the President to lead a Congress delegation to him seeking dismissal of the Badal government and imposition of the President’s rule in Punjab at the earliest.
