Thata Purana (Sultanpur Lodhi) : Congress Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh here today said though it was Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal’s fifth tenure at the top post, he “probably had not learnt how to rule”.

“‘Enu akal nahin aayi. Enu pata nahin ki ho reha sube vich’ (He is oblivious to the ground realities in the state),” said Capt Amarinder while referring to the Moga molestation-death case in an Orbit bus. He was addressing a gathering at Thatan Purana village in Sultanpur Lodhi during a function to mark the martyrdom day of soldier-cum-preacher Baba Bir Singh. The function was organised by Sultanpur Lodhi legislator Navtej Cheema.

“Theirs is a tyrannical government. I have read histories of all countries, but never have so many atrocities been committed on the people. Neither the police nor the transport department dares to act against them. A deputy commissioner once made an attempt, but you all know his fate now. They have earned wealth only by misusing power and have even lost the count of buses they own,” he said.

Targeting the orientation programme organised by Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal for the Orbit bus staff, he said they needed to be taken to task and he would ensure that (when the Congress came to power).” “The Badals’ buses run so fast that even my drivers cannot overtake them. They will learn lesson only if a Punjab Police constable thrashes them. The formal workshop is not enough.”
