Sangrur : Eighty-five leaders and activists of the CPI, including its national executive member Dr Joginder Dayal, courted arrest in front of office of the Deputy Commissioner here today. They did so as part of the party’s “Jail bharo andolan” against the Land Acquisition Bill, 2015. All of them were let off after around an hour.
Earlier, the protesters marched in a procession from the CPI office to the office of the DC here, raising slogans against the Land Acquisition Bill, terming it “anti-farmer”.
Fazilka: CPI activists staged a dharna in front of the DC's office here. Hans Raj Golden, district secretary, CPI, alleged the Centre was misleading the farmers on the proposed law as it wanted to help big corporate firms. "We will oppose the law tooth and nail," he said.
