The cavalcade of the young protesters moved from the chowk till Preet Palace while the vehicles of cops followed them to make sure that no one creates a ruckus.

Deepak Khandoor, president, district Youth Congress, said, “Despite inviting a state wide criticism, the bus company, which was involved in the Moga molestation case, is still plying on the roads.

“We have launched a week long drive in the district against the installation of black films (tinted glasses), curtains and pressure horns in the buses. We will be conducting our campaign at Mullanpur on Saturday, and then in Jagraon on Sunday. It will continue till May 21 at Jodhan. Cops have been a little uncooperative to us during the drive but we will not submit and continue with our mission.”

Addressing the gathering, Khandoor said, “Today the common man of the state is deprived of basic necessities and the situation is worsening with the each passing day. A 13-year-old girl was thrown out of a moving bus in Moga recently. Such incidents needs to be prevented.”

The members also distributed pamphlets to the commuters and passengers in the buses. Kamaljit Brar, Sunny Kainth, Prince Kainth, Neeraj Kumar, Sony Gill and Keshav Sood all executive members of the group were also present at the occasion.
