Abohar : Congress Legislature Party leader Sunil Jakhar has urged Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal to ensure safety and security of businessmen, industrialists and women in the state.

Jakhar today visited the old grain market and interacted with businessmen.

Beopar Mandal president Suresh Bansal and Arhtiya Association former president Anil Nagori said even after a week, the police could not find any clue about the loot committed at the gun point by masked bikers at a commission agent’s office.

The house of another commission agent was burgled in broad daylight in Uttam Vihar. As many as six burglaries were also reported from other colonies and markets. The recent incidents had created panic, they said.

“Sukhbir is concerned with the safety and security of private transport companies which has his family and friends. As Minister for Home Affairs, it is his raj dharma to firmly check crime which had terrorised women, businessmen and industrialists, besides people from other walks of life,” Jakhar said.

He expressed concern over encroachments, grabbing of municipal land and constructions violating building bylaws on water works land on the Nai Sadak here. Slamming the ruling alliance government, he said the SAD and the BJP had in 2007 promised to make the state free of ‘inspector raj’, but the “stigma dots the face of the government”.
