Sangrur : The Punjab unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will issue a "white paper” in two months on the performance of the Badal government in various fields and the “wrongdoings” being done by several political functionaries of the state government.

State convener of AAP Sucha Singh Chhottepur said here today that his party had handed over the work of preparing the white paper to several experts of different fields like education, health, transport and economy.

These experts would prepare a document and hold discussions over different matters before reaching a conclusion, he said.

Chhottepur said that in Punjab, the ruling party’s leaders had been functioning like “property dealers” and they had “captured” several businesses like transport, liquor, cable TV in a big way.

He said that as a result of this attitude of the ruling political functionaries, over 80 per cent industry had shifted to other states from Punjab as these leaders "compel industrialists to include them as shareholders in their businesses".

Chhottepur said people of the state were very unhappy with the present political system and the government as they had to pay money to officials for getting every work done in government offices. He said the officers demanded money from the people in the name of higher authorities.

He also lashed out at the Badal government for the spread of drugs in the state. He said drugs had ruined the Majha area especially as a large number of youths had already been consuming drugs there due to easy availability of drugs like poppy husk, medical intoxicants etc.
