Bains brothers to continue ‘satyagraha’ against sand mafia

LUDHIANA: Independent MLAsSimarjeet Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains-announced to adopt legal procedure to act against the sand mafia in the state during the second phase of their ‘satyagraha’ against the sand mafia.

The ‘satyagraha’ of ‘Insaaf ’ team, which has been formed by the Bains brothers, had conducted drives at the banks of Sutlej river against the sand mafia in the first phase for which they were arrested twice.

Simarjit Singh Bains said that they will inform the sand mining officials about the illegal mining during the second phase of ‘satyagraha’ and will also ask them to lodge complaint against the errants with the police. He said that the team Insaaf will provide proof of illegal mining to them.

While addressing a press conference, he said that if mining officers and police failed to act against the sand mafia, they will move Punjab and Haryana high court.

He claimed he had demanded permission to conduct the press conference at Circuit House but he was not allowed. He said he will raise this issue in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.

SUKHBIR BLAMED FOR REINSTATING PINKY
Bains accused Sukhbir Singh Badal of reinstating dismissed cop Gurmeet Singh Pinky, who was convicted and imprisoned for killing a youth in 2001. Bains said, “Pinky was reinstated on the orders of Sukhbir Singh Badal and when the matter came come into limelight, he made DIG GS Dhillon a scapegoat.”
