Jolt to PPP as Yadwinder Singh Buttar joins BJP

Chandigarh : An already crumbling People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) on Sunday received another jolt when its Youth Wing patron Yadwinder Singh Buttar along with his supporters joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Buttar joined the BJP in the presence of Punjab party unit president Kamal Sharma, National Secretary Tarun Chugh and state general secretary Rakesh Rathore.

While addressing the gathering on the occasion, Buttar said that he switched over to BJP only after being impressed with Modi government’s one year’s performance.

He also mentioned of being convinced with the activities of the Rastriya Swyamsewak Sangh (RSS), adding that the patriotism among the RSS members was highly appreciable.

Speaking on the occasion, Buttar revealed that he was in contact with RSS leader Indresh Kumar for past some time and also attended the camps along with him.

Welcoming Buttar in the BJP fold, Kamal Sharma said his decision would certainly strengthen the party. He also assured him to give due respect in the party.
