Moga bus horror: Murder case sought against Sukhbir

AMRITSAR: Venting their ire against the Moga Bus incident, farmers, labourers, employees, women, youth and others associated with 38 organisations took to the streets again and burnt the effigy of deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, demanding the registration of a murder case against him and the other owners of the bus service.
Shouting slogans, the protesters burnt Badal’s effigies outside the residences of cabinet ministers Anil Joshi and Gulzar Singh Ranike. Cops were deployed at these places in large numbers to prevent law and order situation from getting out of hand.
Heavy police force was also deployed outside the residence of cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia, but no protest was held there.
Accusing Union food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal of telling lies in Parliament, the protestors also demanded her resignation.
Addressing the gathering, various farmer and labour leaders including Datar Singh of Kirti Kisan Union, Rattan Singh Randhawa of Jamhoori Kissan Sabha, Jagtar Singh Karampura of CTU said that a murder case should be registered against the deputy CM and other owners of the bus service.
Condemning the Moga bus incident, the protestors termed the death of teenaged Arshdeep Kaur in the incident as a murder, and said that Sukhbir Badal was responsible for the incident and demanded t registration of a murder case against him and other owners of the bus service.
They sought the annulment of all bus routes being operated by the Badal family and the allocation of their routes to the Punjab Roadways.
The protestors also demanded the arrest of the accused in New Deep Bus Service incident, release of students arrested in Faridkot and ban on the vulgar songs played in the buses.
