Chandigarh : Local Government Minister Anil Joshi today urged Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to give an extension of two months for the registration of the conveyance deed on the allotment price.

The state government announced a golden opportunity for those who were allotted plots or houses to get their conveyance deeds registered till June 7 at a rate mentioned in their allotment letters.

Joshi said since there was not sufficient time available for the public to avail themselves of the benefit due to the delay in the issuance of notification, an extension needed to be provided.

In case the extension was not granted, the allottees would have to get the conveyance deed executed at collector rate linked to the prevailing market rate of property. The Chief Minister is yet to take a note of the request.

However, an order was issued today that the offices of tehsildars and naib tehsildars would remain open on June 6 to get such deeds registered.
