Chandigarh: Punjab Local Government Minister Anil Joshi on Friday appealed Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to issue the orders to extend the time limit for getting the conveyance deed (CD) registration on allotment price for at least two more months. It may be mentioned here that the Punjab Government had announced an opportunity to all those allottees of immovable properties (plots and houses) by the government or a public sector undertaking or local bodies to get their first conveyance deeds registered at rates mentioned in their allotment letters till June 7, which resulted in benefit to large number of allottees to the tune of crores. In a letter to the Chief Minister, Joshi hailed the decision and said that earlier allottees were required to get conveyance deed executed on Collector rate that was linked to present market rate of property and this decision of the state government to register deeds on allotment rate have facilitated a large number of allottees. He said that the state was earning good revenue due to this decision as well as the general public feels satisfied with the proactive approach of the Punjab Government towards this genuine long-pending demand. Joshi further said that as there was not a sufficient time available for the public to avail benefit under this decision due to the delay in issuance of notification in this regard. The minister added that the issue of extending at least two months should be considered sympathetically in larger public interest.
