Joshi meets Arun jaitely for setting up IIM at Amritsar

Amritsar : Local government, Medical Education and Research Minister Anil Joshi met Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and apprised him of the current scenario regarding the failure of local administration to provide suitable land for setting up IIM in Amritsar.

Joshi said that he also apprised Jaitley that people in Amritsar were not only apprehensive of IIM being shifted out of Amritsar, but also very agitated over the thought of this project being shifted to elsewhere and are ready to go to any extent for keeping this prestigious institution in Amritsar.

Joshi urged him to take up the matter with Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and to urge him to direct the district administration to locate suitable site of minimum 60-70 Acres in or around the Amritsar city for setting up the IIM at the earliest.
