PATIALA: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member of Parliament (MP) from Patiala, Dharamvir Gandhi, condemned the arrest of Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar, who has been accused of submitting a forged law degree at a time of the assembly elections earlier this year. Tomar has been booked for cheating, forgery, forgery with purpose of cheating and conspiracy under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Terming the arrest as unconstitutional, Gandhi said that it seemed as if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was yet to come out of the “traumatic” defeat, which it had to face in the Delhi assembly polls. He added that the BJP was now adopting undemocratic policies to create problems for the AAP government. “BJP is trying to rule Delhi through Lieutenant governor of Delhi, Najeeb Jung, and the police. It is continuously disrupting the smooth functioning of the AAP government,” he said.
