Reiterating his support for one rank, one pension (OROP), Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday regretted the Indian Ex-servicemen League’s decision asking him not to attend the June 14 rally in Delhi for OROP lest it annoy the BJP-led government at the Centre.

In a statement, Amarinder said he had received a communication from the Punjab unit of the league quoting its national president, Lt Gen Balbir Yadav (retd), saying his participation may be taken adversely by the Centre.

The former CM said he was primarily an ex-serviceman and his political affiliations came later. “We all belong to the same fraternity of ex-servicemen irrespective of the party we may represent,” he said.
