LUDHIANA: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched an attack on BJP for adopting double standards in taking strict action against party members who had submitted fake degrees for contesting elections.
AAP Ludhiana district convener Ahbaab Singh Grewal said, “While BJP has been overzealously helping Delhi police to arrest AAP MLA and former law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar whose college has submitted that he passed his law exam and the case is still sub-judice. But, why no action has been taken against BJP members and ministers even after it has been proved that they have submitted fraudulent educational qualifications.”
Grewal said, “The case of human resource development minister Smriti Irani is in public domain. She submitted false affidavits for 2004 and 2014 elections. Is her proximity to Narendra Modi the reason that the Delhi police has not become court and jury by itself and arrested her like Tomar?”
