Mann blames SAD-BJP govt for lack of development in state

SANGRUR: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member of Parliament (MP), Bhagwant Mann, lashed out at the SAD-BJP government here on Wednesday for lack of development in the state and accused it of running mafia and jungle raj.

Mann was addressing media persons after donating five ambulances. He gave one ambulance each to two NGOs, Jan Sahara Organisation, Kanjhla village, and Nishkam Seva Society, Khanori; Dhuri civil hospital and two to Malerkotla civil hospital.

He said all the four Aam Aadmi Party MPs from Punjab, along with senior leaders of the party, would soon meet prime minister Narendra Modi on farmer suicides in the country, especially in Punjab.

It is a very worrying situation as state and central governments are not able to protect the rights of farmers, who are providing food to the nation.

Coming down heavily on Sushma Swaraj helping former Indian Premier League (IPL) chief Lalit Modi, Mann said the entire Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is hand-in-glove with Lalit Modi, who is facing several cases of the enforcement directorate and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

He questioned the role of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and said, “How come PMO is not aware of the issuance of visas?” It means everyone is involved in this racket, as from day one PM Modi is favouring business houses.

Mann said, “Our party will not ask for the resignation of Swaraj and our demand is she should be shunted out from the government like Pawan Bansal and Shashi Tharoor. Her husband and daughter are advocates and to promote her daughter’s career, Sushma allegedly favoured Lalit Modi by helping him in getting visa.”

He also criticised the Union government for not allowing the AAP government in Delhi to work properly and transparently.

The Central government was afraid of the good work done by the AAP government in Delhi and trying to suppress it, as the BJP high command is afraid of Aam Aadmi Party winning in other states also.

Speaking on the cancellation of Narendra Modi’s visit to Anandpur Sahib on June 19, he said, “It is now very clear that there is a rift among the SAD and the BJP in the state and in the next election, they will contest elections in the state without any coalition.”

On the killing of Akali leader Mukhjit Singh Mukha, SAD president of ward no 16 in Amritsar on Tuesday, Mann said to protect and save life of real smugglers and gangsters, the Punjab police, on the instruction of the state government, was killing innocent people.

He said no one was safe under the present SAD-BJP government.

Aam Aadmi Party workers would come out on streets and protest if work on Sangrur bus stand project does not commence soon, he warned.
