Capt: Have briefed Sonia on ground realities in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: Amidst leadership row in the Punjab Congress, Amritsar MP Amarinder Singh on Sunday said the party high command was well aware of ground realities in Punjab as he had already briefed Sonia Gandhi during his meeting recently.

The Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha said he had in a letter also provided comprehensive feedback to the party president.

Reacting to reports in a section of the media that Congress general secretary and Punjab in-charge Shakeel Ahmad had called for reports on ground activity, the MP said: “Ground realities can’t be changed or camouflaged no matter how desperately someone tries.”

“The ground reality is that the Congress rank and file is unanimous and united in its resolve to get rid of the corrupt Akali-BJP alliance and have already started working towards that end,” said Amarinder Singh said.
