Bajwa’s mother passes away

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa’s mother Gurbachan Kaur passed away at their native town Qadian in Gurdaspur on Thursday. She was 85. She was the wife of late Punjab minister Satnam Singh Bajwa.

Her younger son, Fateh Jang Bajwa, is a general secretary in the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Her cremation will be held at Qadian on Friday at 11am.

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia have expressed grief over the demise. Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh called up both the brothers to express his condolences.
