Patiala : Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh on Saturday said that the countdown for Badals’ paschatap (penance) for all their sins of omission and commission had begun.

“The day is not that far when you will run for the cover and you will not get it”, Capt Amarinder Singh said to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal in a statement issued here.

The former Chief Minister also said that the BJP was right in its concern over the problem of increasing drug addiction in the state and Badal was doing no good to anyone by straightaway denying the problem in his characteristic denial mode. “Punjab has not been hit as much by the drugs like heroin smuggled from across the border, as by the synthetic drugs like the ‘ice-drug’ produced and pedalled locally with the Akalis’ patronage”, he pointed out.

He said, the anger and outrage against the Badals across the state is so deep and even if they (the Badals) ask for penance and forgiveness they will never be granted as people want to hold them in the dock and try them for all their sins of destroying and devastating Punjab beyond redemption.
