Calls Bajwa a man of ‘poor leadership’ quality, takes dig SAD-BJP regime
Jalandhar : Congress’ Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha and former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday proved once again that his rivals within the party should not make the mistake of taking him lightly, as he continues to hold sway over those who matter for the Congress in the state, as his rally here turned out to be a successful one, notwithstanding the fact that a chunk of his party leaders had left nothing unturned to flop the show. Addressing the rally at Teja Palace here, he lashed out at the Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa and called him a person with ‘poor leadership qualities.’ His rally was a part of his mass contact programme called ‘Mission-2017.’ Most of the sitting Congress MLAs and several former MLAs were present on the occasion.
Captain Amarinder, while taking on the state government for its alleged failure at every step and not protecting the rights of common people, said: “Whatever the state government is doing, is doing for their own benefits rather than that of common masse.” Attacking the BJP leaders directly, Captain called them as ‘mute spectators and a selfish lot’ as they were also enjoying the show. “The BJP is equally responsible for everything happening in the state. They are keeping quiet, because they are in the government and are enjoying the show.”
He said that the Central government was not paying any heed towards the state and whatever Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was claiming was not true. “When our CM Sahib goes to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he hesitates in asking for funds for the state’s development.”
Calling the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the party of unemployed people, he said: “It has split in three ways before it could rise. All the unemployed people are in this party, which does not have mature leadership.” He said that political party needs leader with maturity which the AAP does not have. Captain called the Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Sunil Jhakar a good leader, who possessed quality leadership. Later on talking to media persons, he said that issuing show cause notice to the Congress leaders even when they had already given the ‘reason of health’ was the indication of poor quality of leadership.
