Bathinda : Tempers ran high and factionalism came to the fore during a meeting of the Aam Aadmi Party to chalk out a strategy for the 2017 Assembly elections at Rampura in Bathinda today.
A group raised its voice to demand that Faridkot MP Prof Sadhu Singh should not be sidelined for his stand against Arvind Kejriwal. It demanded that the committee constituted by him for the Faridkot constituency should be allowed to function like before.
Ankush Narang, president, AAP youth wing, who was addressing the meeting, pacified the members by promising them that their demands would be conveyed to the high command in Delhi.
He also requested the workers to work in tandem with each other and allow the meeting to be convened peacefully. A closed-door meeting of AAP leaders Harinder Singh Khalsa and Dharamvira Gandhi had taken place in Ludhiana yesterday, wherein Prof Sadhu Singh participated through video conferencing.
Earlier, at today’s meeting, party workers discussed the strategy for gaining ground before the Assembly elections.
