Amritsar : Terming the demand of Akalis for a Punjabi suba, following which the state was reorganised in 1966, a “blunder”, Capt Amarinder Singh accused Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal of acting without any vision.

Captain was in Shahbajpur village of Tarn Taran district today to address a rally organised by Khadoor Sahib MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki.

He said the state would have been better off had areas of the erstwhile Punjab been part of it.

Taking potshots at Badal for his statement yesterday wherein he stated that the Majithia family was reaping the maximum benefit of power, he said the CM was befooling people as it was his family that had got the maximum benefits.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal also came under his attack. Captain said Kejriwal came to power by making false promises to the people of Delhi.

Congress Legislature Party Leader Sunil Jakhar said: “Badal misses the government of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the most as it was he (Manmohan Singh) who helped the state the most.”

“The Modi government has not given any special package to Punjab even as Badal claims that it is his own government,” he said.
