PATIALA: Punjab Congress leader and former deputy speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Bir Devinder Singh has condemned BJP MP RK Singh for dragging Sikh community into terrorist attack.

“It is completely erroneous and preposterous for the retired civil servant RK Singh to unnecessarily drag the name of the Sikh community in the terrorist attack at Dina Nagar,” said Bir Devinder in press release.

“Singh, former Union home secretary, must not attribute the Dinanagar terrorist attack on police station to the Sikh militants without an authenticated verification. Everybody should exercise utmost restraint and wait till the home minister makes a categorical statement of facts on the issue,” he said.

He added that half-baked speculative sensational statement should not be made by unauthorised persons on such a sensitive issue, which has potential to trigger a chain reaction.

Earlier, while speaking on a national TV channel, Singh had reportedly attributed the attack to the Sikh militants coordinated by the ISI (Inter Services Intelligence Agency of Pakistan).
