Ex-minister Ch Jagjit Singh cremated

Jalandhar : Former Congress minister Chaudhary Jagjit Singh, who died on Tuesday, was cremated with state honours here today.

Leaders from all political parties including MLAs Sukhi Randhawa, Tripat Bajwa, CPSes Pawan Tinu, Avinash Chander and KD Bhandari, ex-ministers Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Master Mohan Lal, Mahinder Singh Kaypee, Avtar Henry and Amarjit Singh Samra attended the funeral.

The Dalit leader’s elder son Chaudhary Surinder Singh lit the pyre even as family members, including his brother and Jalandhar MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh and PYC chief and nephew Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, stood close by.
