Bajwa wants CBI probe into ‘drug links’ of BJP men

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa demanded a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) probe into alleged “links of senior BJP leaders with drug dealers.”

“Prime Minister Narender Modi should fulfil his commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from Punjab. Modi should also listen to Punjab’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’,” he said.

“Not only the ruling Shiromai Akali Dal (SAD), but also their alliance partner BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is involved in the drug racket. The state has turned into a drug haven with the direct involvement of ruling combine leaders,” alleged Bajwa.

Bajwa, who has again moved the high court for movign the drug case to the CBI, said the naming of BJP leaders in the FIR vindicated his stand.
