Chandigarh : Punjab Congress president Partap Bajwa today alleged Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again cold-shouldered the Badal government by cancelling his proposed visit to Dhudike to participate in the 150 anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai on August 28.
“Earlier, he had distanced himself from the 350th anniversary celebrations of Anandpur Sahib to which he was personally invited by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy Sukhbir Badal. Now, his visit was announced by Industries Minister Madan Mohan Mittal. But he again cancelled the visit,” he claimed.
Bajwa asked Badal to explain his definition of step-motherly treatment, the allegation that he frequently used to level against the UPA government led by Dr Manmohan Singh.
He reminded the Chief Minister that he was a frequent visitor to Dr Manmohan Singh, who never refused him anything, but in contrast, Modi was almost inaccessible to Badal and indifferent to the state’s needs.
