Gidderbaha : Indian Youth Congress (IYC) chief and Gidderbaha MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and Congress activists today protested for over five hours outside Kotbhai police station, alleging political vendetta cases against party activists.
He alleged: “A former sarpanch of the village, who is close to SAD’s constituency in charge, is behind registration of false cases against Congress workers. The police are working at the behest of Akalis.”
SAD activists termed the protest a political stunt. They said the Congress leader was usually remained in Delhi and whenever he came to his constituency, he wanted to make his presence felt by such means.
Kuldeep Chahal, SSP, Muktsar, said: “The Congress workers have been assured that a fair inquiry would be done and the arrest would be made only after the inquiry report.”
