MOGA: Sanjay Singh, in-charge of the Punjab affairs of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and a close aide of Delhi chief minister Arwind Kejriwal, said here on Saturday that the first task of the AAP would be to arrest Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia and send him behind the bars for his alleged involvement in selling drugs in the state if the AAP comes to power in Punjab in 2017.

Addressing a public meeting here in the evening, the AAP leader said that people are unhappy with the SAD-BJP alliance government, which has failed to fulfil the promises made to them during the last assembly election.

"The AAP will certainly succeed in awakening the consciousness of the people in the coming days. Politics is not career for the AAP leaders because we have decided to serve the people of Punjab with honesty till our last breath,” said Sanjay Singh.

Lashing out at Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Sanjay Singh said that the Badal family has allegedly made its career through politics, but the career of youth, farmers, labourers, small traders, students and poor sections of Punjab has been lost due to lack of good policies.

“The SAD, BJP and Congress parties of Punjab have been turned into private limited companies with members of particular families controlling their affairs. Nobody is paying attention to the problems of the farmers here. The AAP government has announced `50,000 per hectare as compensation to the farmers, who suffered crop losses at Delhi recently, but the Akalis have failed to do so.
