SAMANA (PATIALA): The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday held an impressive rally at Samana where party’s star campaigner and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said that ousted leaders such as Yogendra Yadav and others won’t be able to dent party’s prospects in the 2017 assembly polls.

Samana is a prestigious seat both for the ruling SAD and opposition Congress. Last time, Akali leader Surjit Singh Rakhra had won the seat defeating Patiala royal scion and Captain Amarinder Singh’s son Raninder Singh. A massive AAP rally here is sure to create some worries for the two traditional parties.

Addressing the gathering, Mann said the SAD and the Congress were two sides of a same coin, and the AAP is the only alternative left before people who are tired of “successive corrupt regimes that have only exploited the common man for their political gains.”

Lashing out at the state government, Mann said: “It’s a mafia government, which is working overtime to loot public as they are aware that they won’t be able to come back to power. The AAP is set to sweep Punjab polls”, said Mann.

Later, in an interaction with the media, Mann said ousted leaders such as Yogendra Yadav and others won’t be able to dent AAP’s prospects with their ‘Swaraj Abhiyan’. He said the massive turnout at AAP rallies clearly indicates that people believe in Arvind Kejriwal . “I hope good sense will prevail among rebel leaders and they would come back into the party fold to strengthen it ahead of polls,” he said.

AAP’s Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said the public is disillusioned with the SADBJP rile.. “It’s the Badal family that is reaping all benefits. All decision are taken to directly or indirectly benefit the family,” said Chhotepur.
