Samana (Patiala):After initial hiccups in getting permission for holding a rally at Samana, the Aam Aadmi Party today managed to put up a decent show in the district which has certainly caused flutter in the ruling SAD-BJP combine, as well as the main opposition party Congress.

Despite humid weather, the AAP cadre was upbeat and actively participated in the rally. A fairly good number of women supporters, who had travelled from nearby villages, listened patiently to the speakers.

Party leaders claimed that Patiala district, which has been a stronghold of the Congress, would show the Royals their real place. The people would also shun the Badals who had pushed the state towards bankruptcy, they added.

Making it amply clear that the AAP leadership was not bothered about suspended leaders Dr Dharamvira Gandhi and Harinder Singh Khalsa, both party convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann maintained that mood of the people was self-explanatory.

Chhotepur said the people of Punjab were showing faith in AAP and the massive rallies were an evidence of their support. “No leader at this stage is indispensable and we are least bothered about internal bickering. All that matters is we have to unite maximum people during the party’s 40 rallies and they are coming under AAP banner after watching party’s performance in Delhi. I am sure better sense will prevail and leaders who have caused trouble will return to the party fold,” he said.
