Jalandhar: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday described the Punjab government as ‘the most corrupt government in the country’ and said that it has failed on every front.

“Present Punjab government is the most corrupt government in the country. It is playing cruel joke on the farmers and people of the state. New taxes are being imposed which puts burden on the people,” AAP MP Bhagwant Mann said, addressing a rally in Adampur here.

He claimed that people are “tired” of this government and want “to remove it”.

“People are not safe in Punjab and the state government has bowed down in front of criminals that is why law and order situation is deteriorating in the state,” AAP’s Punjab unit Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur said in the rally.

Drug dealers are openly doing business here and it is flourishing in the state. Youths in the state are hooked to drugs but the government has failed to take any strong measure against it, he said.

Drugs, cable and sand mafias are flourishing under the patronage of the state government, Chhotepur alleged.

Terming AAP government in Delhi as “corruption free”, Mann said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has started several schemes which are benefiting the people and farmers and demanded those be launched in Punjab too.
