LAMBI (MUKTSAR): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday organised a rally at Lambi, the stronghold of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, dubbing it as ‘Ilaaka Tera, Dhamaaka Mera’ (My grand entry in your territory).

The well-attended rally, part of the party’s Punjab Jodo initiative and held 8km away from Badal, the CM’s native village in Muktsar district, witnessed the AAP leaders coming down heavily on the SAD-BJP government and previous Congress governments on the issues of corruption, farmers’ plight, dynastic politics and drugs.

Addressing the gathering, party’s Punjab incharge Sanjay Singh said both the present government and the previous Congress regime in Punjab had patronised the mafia rule.

Mocking the Congress, AAP’s Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann said, “Has the Congress dared to hold such a rally in Lambi? But we will not stop here and hold rallies at Jalalabad and Majitha, the assembly constituencies represented by deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal and revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia, respectively.”

Targeting the Badal family, Mann said, “The boundary walls of the ruling family’s mansion are even higher than those of a jail.”
