Lambi : The Aam Aadmi Party held its first rally in Lambi, the Assembly constituency of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. As in other parts of the state, the party rally was a big draw.

The leaders slammed the ruling Badals, besides targeting Revenue Minister Bikram Majithia over the drug menace. They blamed the SAD-BJP government for the poor condition of farmers and alleged it failed to check the whitefly attack.

Buoyed by a huge turnout, Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann announced that the party would now hold rallies in Jalalabad and Majitha Assembly constituencies, represented by Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal and Majithia, respectively.

All senior leaders of the party, including its Punjab in charge Sanjay Singh, state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Faridkot MP Sadhu Singh addressed the gathering. They targeted the Badals on drugs, corruption, favouritism, politicisation of police, mining of sand and gravel and land mafia. They also lashed out at Congress and the previous UPA government at the Centre.

Sanjay Singh termed PM Narendra Modi and Sukhbir “jumlebaaj”. “Modi during his election campaign had promised to bring back black money and Punjab’s Deputy CM is saying he would run water buses in the state. They both are liars and befooling people. It is the time for the public to show them the door,” he said.
