FATEHGARH SAHIB: Taking a dig at the recent case of edict of Akal Takht to Dera Sirsa chief and then taking it back, former deputy speaker of Punjab Bir Devinder Singh said that if the government cannot respect the sentiments of a community then it should quit immediately.
He said that the Kotakpura incident was shameful in the wake of repeated incidents of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab.
“The Badal government should be humble and not hurt people anymore and resign,” Singh added.
He said if a government cannot save the dignity of Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab, then how people can expect the same to maintain law and order in state.
Singh said the decision taken by supreme organisation of Sikhs, Akal Takht was politically influenced.
