RUPNAGAR: Congress MLA from Chamkaur Sahib Charanjit Singh Channi has demanded a special assembly session to discuss the prevailing situation in Punjab in the wake of incidents of alleged sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.
The Chamkaur Sahib MLA further said that there was an urgent need to discuss the current situation in the state. He said people, particularly Sikhs, have lost faith in the state government, which was responsible for the present mess.
Demanding action against deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and director general of police (DGP) Sumedh Saini, Channi said the two should be booked in connection with the death of two protesters who were killed in police firing in Kotakpura of Faridkot district recently.
