Situation in Punjab is disturbing, Mann tells Rajnath

NEW DELHI: Sangrur Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagwant Mann on Thursday met home minister Rajnath Singh and urged him to ensure peace in Punjab, which is witnessing protests over incidents of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.

During the 15-minute meeting, Mann said that the situation in the state was “very disturbing”. Sources said the home minister told him that he had already spoken to Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and reviewed the situation with him.

Meanwhile, International Sikh Council Chairman Muktiyar Singh also met the home minister and urged him to ensure peace in the state.
