ROHTAK: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday condemned Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal’s statement that the Haryana government had no control over its state in the past 11 years, which include the oneyear rule of BJP government. Khattar advised Punjab deputy CM to focus on the development of Punjab instead of Haryana.
Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar taking stock of arrangements being made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sonepat on November 5.
“Sukhbir Badal should focus on the development of Punjab and not worry about Haryana as we are already taking the required steps for the overall development of the state, which is not lagging behind others in terms of progress,” said Khattar.
Replying to a question about the issues being raised by the farmers and allegations by opposition parties regarding BJP’s anti-farmer image in Haryana the chief minister said, “The BJP government is committed to welfare of farmers and will accept their licit demands.” He also stated some of the demands had already been fulfilled.
Khattar, who visited Sonepat to review the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on November 5, said Modi will lay down the foundation stones of several big projects in the region. He also said that during PM Modi’s visit he will ask him to extend the Delhi metro to Sonepat city.
