Bathinda : Senior advocate HS Phoolka will lead a cycle rally from Bargari to Bathinda on November 14 to seek the resignation of Union Cabinet Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Badal. He said she had failed to ensure punishment for Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, “despite ample proof against him”, for his “role” in 1984 riots.
Addressing a press conference here today, Phoolka said the 45-km cycle rally from the site, which was the centre of Sikh protests following recent incidents of sacrilege, would conclude in the office of the cabinet minister.
A leading lawyer for Sikh rights, Phoolka said, “The MP had promised before the Lok Sabha elections that she and her party would work for securing punishment to those guilty of the 1984 genocide, especially Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar.” Tytler was given a clean chit in December 2014. “The CBI filed the closure report in court, secretly and without informing media as well as victims,” he said.
