Patiala : Congress Deputy Leader in the Lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh today ridiculed Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal’s charge that the Congress was behind Sarbat Khalsa.
He also condemned the Deputy CM for terming Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the victims of Bargari police firing political.
In a statement issued here today, Amarinder advised Sukhbir and his father Parkash Singh Badal that instead of blaming others, particularly the Congress, they must introspect and admit their gross failure on political and administrative fronts.
“It is only because your father all his life has misused religion and religious institutions like Akal Takht and SGPC that there is so much resentment among the community against you and the situation has come to such a passé that you have to go into hiding,” he told Sukhbir.
PPCC chief Partap Bajwa accused the Akalis of damaging the Sikh institutions under the pressure of the RSS. “It is the top agenda of the RSS to tinker with religious affairs of the minorities. An RSS team has been camping in Malwa region for three days. Sarbat Khalsa is the outcome of policies pursued by the Badals. The Congress is a secular party and it has nothing to do with Sarbat Khalsa,” he said.
