Bathinda : A senior advocate and the AAP activist H S Phoolka on Thursday claimed that in the past 30 years he charged no fee neither from the SGPC nor the DSGMC for contesting the cases of 1984 Sikh genocide victims.
Phoolka was replying to the recent charges leveled upon him by the SAD MP and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal in which she had lashed out at him for seeking her resignation with a charge that she did nothing when CBI filed closure report in the court against Sajjan Kumar and Jagdish Tytler, the prime accused of the massacre.
In her allegations, Harsimrat had claimed that Phoolka kept on charging hefty amount of fee from the SGPC and DSGMC for contesting such cases in the name of his juniors but did nothing than media appearances.
Rebutting the allegations, Phhola on Thursday held a press conference in Bathinda where he claimed that he charged nothing from the DSGMC and SGPC neither himself nor in the name of his juniors.
Speaking further, Phoolka produced some court orders in Jagdish Tytler case, where it was recorded that HS Phoolka appeared for victims Lakhvinder Kaur, filed protest petition and argued case. Also produced orders in Sajjan Kumar case in High Court where it was recorded that H S Phoolka had been representing victims.
Phoolka further alleged that Bathinda MP was attempting to defame him as she had no explanation as to how Clean Chit was given to Jagdish Tytler. He also challenged the SAD leader for an open debate on 1984 carnage.
It’s pertinent to mention that in her statement, Harsimrat had categorically rubbished the charged of Phhola for her sitting silent in this case, with a specific mention of her efforts being made for justice to the victim families.
However, reiterating his demand for Harsimrat’s resignation, Phoolka announced that he would definitely lead a 45 kms cycle rally from Bargadi to Bathinda on November 14, where he would be supported by various NGOs.
